Tank containers or Portable Tanks are used for the transportation and storage of dangerous liquids such as chemicals, oil and gas  and drilling fluids, waste materials and aviation fuel. These tanks are  inside a frame, protecting it from damage during shipping and handling. Safety is a major consideration in the design, manufacture and quality of units and during periodic inspection of the tank vessel and frame.

We have been providing 2,5 yearly and 5 yearly tank container/ portable tank inspections on intermodal and offshore tank containers for over two decades. We can either witness the testing by your staff or a third party testing company, or be able to provide both the testing as witnessing. Our services comply to all leading global and local standards and may be attuned with your companies requirements.

Maintenance and additional testing

In addition to the 2,5 yearly or 5 yearly test or witnessing, we can perform several services on request. These services may comprise of valve testing, tank vessel thickness gauging or seal and part replacement. Inspection of the frame, including non-destructive testing where required may be done on request. Larger maintenance, such as blasting and painting may be performed by carefully selected partners. Our cooperation with ABS

For years, Control Union Industrial Inspections has been working in close cooperation with the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). As an External Specialist for Thickness Gauging and DROPS surveys, we provide several ABS approved marine services. In addition, as a global ABS Control Certification Firm we are able to witness periodic tank container inspections and issue an ABS 2,5 yearly or 5 yearly inspection report on behalf of ABS.

Our reports

Our inspection reports comply to all international requirements and may be issued on behalf of ABS. All reports are send and signed digitally and are published on our client portal, available 24/7 on our ISO27001 secured database.
