Cranes

According to the leading API Recommended Practice 2D, annual inspection is performed on offshore cranes that are found on drillships, rigs or platforms. At Control Union, we carry out these crane inspections with respect to any special requirements the crane manufacturer, owner or user may have.

The crane’s electrical and hydraulic systems are thoroughly inspected, along with a review of safety features and procedures. If required, the crane survey can be combined with a DROPS survey.

Control Union can also perform a six monthly inspection of offshore cranes, which certifies them for man-riding purposes within LOLER legislation.
