Class approved

We can perform various Non Destructive examinations as part of class inspections on classed vessels, offshore projects such as windparks and offshore platforms and drilling units (MODU/MOU), and is approved to carry out such inspection work on behalf of the major class societies.

Control Union is able to inspect the slewing gear of pedestal and mobile cranes by using a special ultrasonic inspection method which prevents the crane being lifted from its bearing, saving clients unnecessary risk, time and money.

Additionally, Control Union can perform ultrasonic thickness measurements on ship hulls as part of the 5 yearly survey of a ship’s structure, which is recognised by classification societies.
