We also offer the ‘Shanghai’ filter test at this facility. Control Union Water is a partner of the Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research.
Commissioning testing
Control Union Industrial Inspections provides shipboard commissioning testing and sampling as per IMO BWM.2/Circ.70. We are the first approved Service Provider for the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) for ballast water sampling and analysis at commissioning. We have services teams available around the globe for commissioning services at shipyards for newbuild or retrofit systems.
Water discharge and VGP
Periodic sampling of discharge water such as ballast water, bilge, and gray water as well as exhaust gas scrubber water is a requirement for most commercial vessels. Any vessel sailing from and to the United States requires an annual monitoring program in line with EPA-requirements to obtain a Vessel General Permit (VGP). In addition, for crew safety many vessel operators test their drinking water facilities regularly.
Via our global network of offices in key 40+ ports and along key trade routes as well as our extensive presence of test laboratories, we provide all required sample testing of water discharges required for the vessels VGP. Often our teams can combine these in a single vessel visit. Our sampling services are performed together with our Vessel Performance Centre.
